COFTT helps you start and grow your business - hassle-free, legal, and done right.
Set up your Amazon USA store with a UAE company – here’s how we helped our client do it.
Ever heard stories like — “A guy started selling one product on Amazon and now makes $30,000 every single month?”
Well, it’s not just a story. It’s real. Go to Amazon.com right now, type in “women’s summer dress,” and just look at the numbers. Some of those products are selling over 10,000 units in one month. Now imagine the seller is making just $3 profit per sale - that’s a clean $30,000 monthly profit. Incredible, right?
And the best part? You don’t need to register a company in the USA to do this.
Yes, you read that right.
At COFTT, we’ve helped multiple UAE-based entrepreneurs launch and scale their Amazon USA stores using their existing company in Dubai - and today we’re going to show you exactly how.
Absolutely yes.
Many people in the UAE come to us with this question:
“Do I need a US company to open an Amazon USA seller account?”
“Can I register with my Dubai company?”
The answer is YES — Amazon supports UAE-based companies. You don’t need a US entity to get started.
Now, before you jump into creating your Amazon USA store, there’s one essential thing you must have - a valid trade license in the UAE. Whether it’s a mainland license or a freezone license, Amazon requires you to operate as a legally registered business.
If you want the flexibility to sell both online and in physical stores, a mainland license is your best bet. For example, if you plan to sell ready-made garments, you’ll register a trading LLC in the Dubai mainland under the Readymade Garments activity group. This allows you to sell online and offline within the UAE and beyond.
Not ready to spend big yet? No problem. A freezone ecommerce license can be your perfect starting point. This is the most affordable option for new sellers who want to sell online without the overhead of a retail store. You can get an ecommerce license in a UAE freezone starting from just AED 5,500! Simple, affordable, and perfect for Amazon sellers.
Not sure whether a mainland or freezone license is right for you? Don’t worry — we’ve explained the differences in detail. You can read our guide on Mainland vs Freezone Company Formation to help you decide.
Let’s walk you through exactly how we helped one of our clients, a women’s clothing brand based in Dubai, set up their Amazon USA Seller Central account - all using their Dubai mainland license.
Visit the Amazon Seller Central USA website.
Click “Sign up” and enter your email and create a password. Confirm your email to proceed.
Add your full name, date of birth, and country of residence.
Select UAE as your country of residence.
Here’s where it gets interesting. Enter your UAE company details:
a. Business license name (as per license)
b. Business address (as per trade license)
c. License number
d. Company contact person details
You’ll also be prompted to add a valid credit or debit card - this is for the $42 USD monthly Amazon seller subscription. Amazon will verify the card now but charge only after account approval.
a. UAE Company Trade License
b. Emirates ID (front & back)
If you’re a non-Emirati expat living in the UAE, you must select UAE as your residence and provide Emirates ID.
Once all fields are filled and documents uploaded - hit submit.
Amazon uses facial recognition. Turn on your webcam and follow the on-screen instructions. They’ll match your face with your ID.
You’ll receive an email that your account is under review.
In our client’s case, we got an approval email within 14 hours.
Once your account is active:
Log in to Amazon USA Seller Central
Go to “Deposit Methods”
Add your UAE bank details: IBAN, account name, and SWIFT/BIC code.
Select UAE from the list of supported countries
You’re done! Now create your product listings and go live on Amazon.com.
Let’s be honest - Amazon UAE is growing, but Amazon USA is a monster.
You get:
Over 230 million monthly visitors. That’s traffic you don’t want to miss.
Even low-profit products sell in massive quantities.
List your products in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Ship your products to Amazon warehouse in the US and they take care of storage, packing, and shipping.
